Dear Gordon Liu,
I have been a fan of yours as long as I can remember. Before I even started doing Kung-Fu I used to watch "Black Belt Theater" and I remember when I first saw the Clan of the White Lotus and how awesome I thought it was. Only to be completely blown away when I saw the 36th Chamber! (of which I own and loan out to friends saying: "WATCH THIS!"
In my mid 30's I started to add Yoga to my martial arts practice and I named my tumblr account after my favorite movie: The 36th Chamber of Yoga
I was heart broken when I heard of your stroke and health struggles. I hold you in my thoughts with another great teacher in my life who is struggling with his health Thich Naht Hanh.

Hi Mr. Liu,
I'm sitting here on a lazy Saturday afternoon on a Netflix binge watching your movies. It takes me back to when I was a kid and on those same Saturday afternoons, they used to show all these Kung fu flicks and i would watch them one by one mesmerized. And when one of your movies would come on I would always pay especially close attention. I was too young at that time to really understand what was going on, but not too young to understand or appreciate that you were an exciting actor and a wonderful athlete. And I always looked forward every Saturday morning to see if I would have a glimpse of you again. As I was watching one of your movies today I decided to look you up and i had no idea you were ill. But I am happy to know that you are getting better and I hope that every day you get stronger and stronger. Please remember that you have had an impact on people all over the world and even though you may not hear it every day, we are thinking of you, wishing you well, and on a Saturday morning, some little girl or boy on the opposite side of the world, is sitting at home, watching your movies, hoping one day they can just be like you. Wishing you nothing but the best and an excellent recovery.
